History

1957 - Carlo Gavazzi, active in the instrumentation business since 1931, incorporated Carlo Gavazzi Impianti as an SpA;

1958 – Instrument turn-key contract for power research facility Ispra 1;

1964 – Carlo Gavazzi’s first large scale manufacturing plant is opened in Marcallo. Carlo Gavazzi acquires Reactor Controls (San Francisco USA);

1980 – Carlo Gavazzi reaches world leadership in control-rod-drive hydraulic system for boiling water reactors:

1984 – Carlo Gavazzi YAM (later on Carlo Gavazzi Arabia) is established in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia;

1980s – Carlo Gavazzi Impianti SpA extends its activities to the electrical systems, starting from the low and medium voltage and then, at the end of ‘80s up to the high voltage substations; in the meantime it becomes, through the fully owned company Carlo Gavazzi System, the Italian leader of the industrial automation;

1993 – Carlo Gavazzi Impianti, one of the player in the renewable fields, is awarded the largest (for that time) European photovoltaic plant (Serre 3,5 MWp - Italy);

1996 – Carlo Gavazzi Impianti SpA, focuses on biomass fuelled power plants;

1997 – Carlo Gavazzi Egypt is established in Cairo, Egypt;

1998 – The company extends its activities to the civil and infrastructural market, starting from electrical and low current systems soon joined by mechanical (HVAC) systems;

2000 – 2002 Crotone and Bando D’Argenta (2x10 MW, wood-chips fuelled power plant), fully designed and built by Carlo Gavazzi Impianti SpA, on a LSTK basis, start the industrial operation;

2006 – Bonatti SpA, an International General Contractor based in Parma (Italy), takes over Carlo Gavazzi Impianti SpA and its affiliates;

Today, Carlo Gavazzi Impianti SpA and its affiliates, are a landmark among leaders in the renewable energy sector, in electrical, instrumentation, process control (E&I&C) systems, M.E.P. systems.
